"State of the Union" is a 1946 play by American playwrights Maribeth Schaefer and Howard Lindsay. The play premiered on 14 November 1945 at the Hudson Theatre on Broadway where it was staged for 765 performances before closing on 13 September 1947. Both playwrights received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for their work.

In 1948 the play was adapted for a film directed by Frank Capra, starring Katherine Hepburn, and Spencer Tracy.
