Matt Jones (born August 8, 1983 in Downers Grove, Illinois) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. Matt Jones played four seasons at the University of North Dakota and helped lead his team to the 2005 NCAA Frozen Four championship game as an assistant captain. July 3rd, 2008 it was announced that the Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Matt Jones to a two-year contract. Scouting Report: Owns all-around ability and puck poise from the back end. Can be used in all game situations, and should thrive with increased ice time down the road.
