National Association of Credit Managers

The National Association of Credit Managers is a nonprofit organization in the United States that promotes standards for credit managers. NACM® was founded in 1896 to promote good laws for good sound credit, protect businesses against fraudulent debtors, improve the interchange of credit information, develop better credit practices and methods, and establish a code of ethics.

Members of NACM are credit and financial executives, primarily representing manufacturers, wholesalers, financial institutions, and a wide range of service organizations. Research programs and education demonstrate NACM's awareness of the multifaceted needs of credit management in today’s economy.

The Association offers education, training and professional certification programs, including the Credit Business Associate (CBA), Credit Business Fellow (CBF), and Certified Credit Executive (CCE) designations, among others. It has also credentialed Certified Expert Witnesses (CEW) in the area of business bankruptcies and preferences.

NACM's international arm is FCIB, an association of executives in Finance, Credit & International Business. The fastest growing portion of NACM, FCIB provides education, seminars, credit groups & reporting tailored for the international credit executive. FCIB has organized a successful sereies of online courses on a variety of topics, and offers the Certified International Credit Professional (CICP) and Certified International Credit Executive (CICE) designations.

Notable among the NACM leadership is Mark Tuniewicz, who served on NACM's national board of directors from 1996-2008 and as its national chairman. During his tenure, NACM evaluated and entered multiple new markets, created significant new product & service offerings and carried out a strategic focus on global expansion unprecedented in the organization's 110 year history.

NACM is headquarted in Columbia, MD.
