Ikawa, Shizuoka

Ikawa, Shizuoka

Ikawa is a small village in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. There is an unknown sightseeing place but it is popular among local people so it is a good unknown spot in Shizuoka. In the village, you can enjoy beautiful red and yellow leaves in autumn and skiing and snowboarding in winter. "Ikawa" is also famous for Ikawa Dam and "Ikawa Menpa" which is a lacquered bamboo lunch box. "Ehonnomori" is also a good place for the family; "Ehonnomori" means "Picture book forest". Interestingly, a strange big white image of Buddha was built there.
