Edgware Town F.C. is a football club based in Edgware in the London Borough of Harrow, England. The club were forced to resign from the Ryman League in the summer of 2008, and are currently dormant, though the club's name continues to be registered with the Middlesex FA.

History

They were established in the summer of 1939 and played in the Middlesex Senior League until they joined the Corinthian League in the 1946-47 season.

Their biggest success in the following years came in 1947-48, when they won the Middlesex Senior Cup and reached the final of the London Senior Cup.

The name of the club was changed to Edgware F.C. in 1972, and back to Edgware Town in 1987.

In 2006-07 Edgware Town enjoyed their most successful season in the club's 68 year history, winning an unprecedented treble of trophies, the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division (thus earning promotion to the Isthmian League Division One North for 2007-08), the Spartan South Midlands Football League Premier Cup, and the Spartan South Midlands Football Challenge Trophy.

After playing for 68 years at the White Lion Ground in Edgware, the freehold of the ground was sold to Edgeware Developments in 2005, the new landlord was subsequently granted planning permission by Harrow Council to build houses and flats on the ground. In the summer of 2007 the club's main sponsor decided they could no longer finance the club and the Management Committee announced that it would have to disband since it could not afford to continue paying the rent on the ground which was £8000.00 per quarter.

A sponsor was found to give the club one further season at the White Lion ground and the opportunity of playing in the Ryman Division 1 North, where they achieved a creditable 8th place. However, shortly after the end of the 2007/08 season the club announced that without being able to guarantee a ground for the new season, they would have to resign from the Isthmian League. The club are currently dormant, however, the club's name is still registered with the Middlesex FA and although they will not compete during the 2008/09 season there is a hope that the club can be reserected in the future.

During the summer of 2008, Steve Newing and Del Deanus took over as joint managers of Leyton FC and with them followed a number of players who had been with them at Edgware Town for the past 3 seasons.
