cities = The Wildsee is a smalllake on top of theBlack Forest mountain range in southwesternGermany . It was excavated in the rock by the abrasive forces of the glaciers of the Ice Ages. Rainwater accumulated and the first birds seeded the moss that is still responsible for the lake's existence. The area has a geological base of sandstone. The sandstone developed a rich brown soil, which originally allowed the European Beech to grow. In the later development of forestry, the
Norway Spruce andEuropean Pine (Pinus sylvestris) were introduced. These two tree species build the optical framework for this beautiful setting.External links
