The Battle of Pindus ( _el. Μάχη της Πίνδου) took place in the Pindus Mountains in Epirus, Greece in the autumn of 1940. The battle was fought between the Greeks and the Italians during the first stages of the Italian invasion of Greece. Even though the Italians had better weapons and machinery, the Greeks fought back and won the battle. This battle was the turning point of the Greco-Italian War. After this battle, the Greeks began pushing the Italians back into Albania.
