Brad Shaw was born
April 28 ,1964 inCambridge, Ontario ,Canada and is Assistant Coach for the St. Louis Blues. Shaw was drafted by theDetroit Red Wings in the 5th round (86th overall) in the1982 NHL Entry Draft . He played Junior Hockey for theOttawa 67's of theOntario Hockey League , Minor League Hockey for theSalt Lake Golden Eagles ,Atlanta Knights andDetroit Vipers of the now defunct International Hockey League as well as theBinghamton Whalers of theAmerican Hockey League , and professional hockey for theHartford Whalers ,Ottawa Senators ,Washington Capitals , and St. Louis Blues of theNational Hockey League .After retiring as a player from professional hockey, Shaw served as an assistant coach for the
Detroit Vipers of the IHL,Springfield Falcons andCincinnati Mighty Ducks of theAmerican Hockey League , andTampa Bay Lightning of theNational Hockey League , as well as head coach for theNew York Islanders for part of the 2005–2006 season, after former head coachSteve Stirling was fired. His NHL coaching record as the Islanders interim coach was 18–18–4.External links
