Henry Rogers Seager, Ph.D. (1870,
Lansing, Michigan – 1930) was an Americaneconomist .He studied at the
University of Michigan (Ph.B., 1890), at theUniversity of Pennsylvania (Ph.D., 1894), atJohns Hopkins University , and inEurope at Halle,Berlin , andVienna .He was employed at the
University of Pennsylvania from 1897-1902, and then atColumbia University , where he became professor in 1905.Seager was a member of several commissions in New York to investigate labor conditions. He served as president of the
American Association for Labor Legislation and served on the board of editors of the "Political Science Quarterly".He published the following:
