The 1967 Tour de France was the 54th
Tour de France , taking place June 29 to July 23, 1967. It consisted of 22 stages over 4780 km, ridden at 35.018 km/h. Thirteen national teams of ten riders competed, with three French teams, two Belgian, two Italian, two Spanish, one each from from Germany, United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and a Swiss/Luxembourgian team.The Tour was marred by the fatal collapse of
Tom Simpson on the slopes ofMont Ventoux . This tour was the first to have a prologue, a short individual time-trial prior to stage racing.Results
