Sven-Bertil Taube, Sven-Bertil Gunnar Evert Taube, (born
November 24 ,1934 ) is a Swedish singer and actor. He is the son of the songwriterEvert Taube .Sven-Bertil released his debut album in
1954 with covers of his father's songs. He has also recorded songs by the Swedish 18th century songwriterCarl Michael Bellman and the poetNils Ferlin (1898-1961), whose poems were mostly put to music byLille Bror Söderlundh , and others.Sven-Bertil Taube also started a somewhat successful acting career which took him to
London where he acted in theater and musicals and had a role on the television series "Upstairs, Downstairs ". In the 1970s, Taube tried to find work as an actor inHollywood and had some minor roles, most notable in the 1976 World War II drama "The Eagle Has Landed " and the starring-role as a US agent in the 1971 film-version ofAlistair MacLean 's novel "Puppet on a Chain ".The 1980s and 1990s, he starred in a number of Swedish films and television series, while keeping alive his music career.
