Baddi is an industrial town and a nagar panchayat in the Southwestern Solan District of Himachal Pradesh, a hill state of northern India. The town lies on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana states in the Shivalik Hills, around 35 kilometres west of Solan. Chandigarh, a union territory and the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, is around 40 kilometres west of Baddi.

Baddi is a leading industrial centreFact|date=September 2008 of Himachal Pradesh, being part of an industrial corridor stretching from Barotiwala to Nalagarh along the western border of Solan district.

Economy

Many Indian companies are now seeking to relocate operations to Baddi because of tax concessions being offered by the Central and State governments.

Education

Baddi is also fast emerging into one of the best educational centres in Himachal Pradesh. There is a dental college in the Bhud area. Many new schools such as:Sri Aurbindo Public School,VR Public School C.B.S.E.,BL Public School H.B.S.E,Him Shikha Public School H.B.S.E.,PC Public School H.B.S.E,Vivek International Public School have opened.
