"Electron Blue" is a song by R.E.M. from their thirteenth studio album, "Around the Sun". It was also released as a single, the album's third, reaching #26 on the UK Singles Chart. The song is almost entirely composed of rhyming couplets.

Lead singer and lyricist Michael Stipe claimed at concerts that the song was inspired by a dream he had about an electric hallucinogenic drug made of light, and this idea is implied by the song's lyrics. Stipe has also said the this song is his personal favorite from the "Around the Sun" album. It also inspired his stage appearance for the subsequent tour: a blue band painted across his eyes.Fact|date=February 2007

The song is included on "R.E.M. Live", and is referenced in the R.E.M. song "Sing for the Submarine", included on their 2008 album "Accelerate".
