Frecuencia Latina (formerly Frecuencia 2), better known as Channel 2, is a Peruvian television network. The network was founded in May 31, 1962 by the Cavero Family Group who turned the station into a network filled with musical programs and variety shows. Low ratings and financial problems led the Cavero Group to sell the sation to a Spanish holding company (Movie Records) in the mid 1960s. The new station was renamed Teledos. Unfortunately, Teledos never achieved enough popularity to stay in the air. Channel 2 never reached America Television and Panamericana Televisión ratings, their most successful rivals at the time. The political turmoil in Peru during the 1970s and a bankruptcy crisis marked the end of the station for a decade.

After the restoration of freedom of the press among other civil rights in Peru after the brutal and repressive regime of Juan Velasco Alvarado in the 1970s, Channel 2 was back in the air in 1982 when Winter Group bought the station and turned it into one of the first Peruvian networks to broadcast live and in color. In January 23, 1983, the new network was renamed "Frecuencia 2" (Frequency 2) and kept that name until 1995, where it was finally renamed to "Frecuencia Latina".

The Winter Group led by Samuel Winter and Mendel Winter , majority shareholder of the station, gained control of it in 1997 after Fujimori's regime stripped Ivcher (minority shareholder) of his Peruvian nationality. All of this was prompted by newscasts that revealed the corruption of former president Alberto Fujimori and Vladimiro Montesinos. Some analysts believe this change influenced the editorial line of the channel. However, Channel 2 regained popularity during the Winter Group years.

After the fall of Alberto Fujimori in the early 2000s, ownership of the channel reverted to Baruch Ivcher. The channel commenced a swift process of reforms. The network has several TV Shows, including "Ayer y Hoy" a Sunday show similar to "60 Minutes", 90 Segundos a newscast, "La Ventana Indiscreta" hosted by Cecilia Valenzuela, and "El Especial del Humor", a comedy show. The network is also known for broadcasting the telenovelas produced by Iguana Comunicaciones. This year Gisela Valcarcel a Peruvian diva, is called to air a new show in this channel.

The channel has broadcast many animated series such as Pokémon. Also, channel 2 has produced several biographies of popular Peruvians such as: "Dina Paucar: La Diosa Del Amor", Lorenzo Palacios Quispe "El Angel del Pueblo", Lima's Villa el Salvador district history called "Viento y Arena", "Augusto Ferrando: "De Pura Sangre" and "Virgenes de la Cumbia".
