Gocha Jamarauli (born
July 23 ,1971 ) is a retired footballmidfielder from Georgia. He is regarded as one of the best players Fact|date=February 2007 the country has seen since its 1991 independence. He was a regular in the national team, and played 62 international matches and scored 6 goals between 1994 and 2004. FC Dinamo Tbilisi while they still played in the Soviet league. After the Georgian football league was formed, the Dinamo team won several titles in a row, and Jamarauli was a key player during this period. In 1996 he wanted to play abroad, and moved to Russian teamAlania Vladikavkaz , and the next season toTrabzonspor ofTurkey . Neither spell was very successful, so he got a transfer to Swiss clubFC Zürich where he spent four seasons until leaving following a contract dispute. Via another Swiss team,FC Luzern , he joinedFC Metalurh Donetsk in the Ukrainian league, where he would spend two and a half season. Following brief spells withDinamo Tbilisi andAnorthosis Famagusta the midfielder announced his retirement from professional football.References
