Arthur J. Weaver

Arthur J. Weaver

Arthur J. Weaver (November 18, 1873ndash October 17, 1945) was a Nebraska Republican politician best known for being the 25th governor of Nebraska. Early in his life he was a lawyer and fruit grower. He was married to Maude E. Hart on September 2, 1908.

He was also a founding member of the Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1894.

Political Carrier

Besides being governor from 1929 to 1931, he was elected to the Nebraska house of representatives in 1899. He was a delegate to the state constitutional convention in 1919 to 1920, a presidential elector for Nebraska in 1920, delegate to the 1932 Republican National Convention and chair of the Richardson County Republican Party in 1940.
