July 15 -George Bradley of the St. Louis Brown Stockings pitches the firstno-hitter in MLB history against theHartford Dark Blues .
*August 4 - Trailing the Chicago White Stockings with rain looming, theLouisville Grays stall the game by committing error after error until the umpire rules the game a forfeit. The game result would later be removed from the official league standings.
*September 5 -George Bradley of theSt. Louis Brown Stockings throws his 16th shutout of the season in a 9-0 win over theNew York Mutuals . It is a record that still stands.
