Ceratonia (pronounced /ˌsɛrəˈtoʊniə/)[1] is genus of flowering trees in the pea family, Fabaceae, that is endemic to the Mediterranean region. It belongs to the subfamily Caesalpinioideae, tribe Caesalpinieae.[2]
An obsolete name for Ceratonia was Acalis.
