Adame Ba Konaré (born
1 May ,1947 inSegu ,Mali ) is a notedMali an historian and writer who is married toAlpha Oumar Konaré , former President of Mali. She is active in several causes for newborns and refugees.Adam Ba Konare, hailing from a
Fula family, studied inPoland during theCold War along with her husband. She earned a degree in history and was a professor until her husband presidentAlpha Oumar Konare 's presidency. She has written various types of book, from Biographies(aboutSunni Ali Ber ) to philosophy (L'Os de la parole) or even a novel (Quand L'ail se frotte a l'encens), which's plot focuses on the social gap in a fictional society redolent of Mali's. For this book, her style has been compared to French authors Zola and Hugo's works.Although officially retired, she is often invited to world Histoiran conferences and has made herself popular for saying once on a French channel: "The hen knows the sun has risen and yet lets the rooster sing", which is many consider to be a "Feminist" Malianproverb .Adam Ba Konare is also a fierce feminist, and the founder inBamako of one of the few "Woman's museum" inAfrica .Recently, she's been involved in a project of promotion of African History, following French president
Nicolas Sarkozy 's Speech inDakar . The movement aims to write a History ofAfrica , defending the African legacy and past civilizations.External links
