Lapovo (Лапово) is a small town and municipality located in the Šumadija District of Serbia. In 2002, the population of the town was 7,422, while population of the municipality was 8,228. The municipality of Lapovo contains only two settlements - the town of Lapovo(Varos Lapovo) and the village Lapovo also called Gornja Stanica. Brief Lapovo History

First mention of Lapovo existence dates from 12th century when Stefan Nemanja conquered region of Lepenica from Bizanthy. More accurate information about Lapovo's existence came after the Battle of Kosovo in 1389 while duke Mihailo or MIhalj was running estate in today’s region of Lapovo.
