Captain Anthony Paul Methuen, 5th Baron Methuen was born on June 26, 1891 and educated at Wellington College and New College, Oxford.
He was wounded in World War I while serving as a Captain in the Scots Guards.
He was a chartered architect and was married to Grace Durning Holt, the eldest daughter of Sir Richard Durning Holt, with whom he had the following children:
*Anthony Richard Paul Methuen b. 14 May 1923, d. 8 December 1934
*Anthony John Methuen, 6th Baron Methuen b. 26 October 1925, d. 1994
*Hon. Elizabeth Penelope Methuen b. 4 July 1928
*Robert Alexander Holt Methuen, 7th Baron Methuen b. 22 July 1931
He died in 1975 and was succeeded by his second son Anthony John Methuen, having been predeceased by his first son.
