SMS "König Albert" was a "Kaiser" class
battleship built in Germany prior toWorld War I and which served in theHigh Seas Fleet of theGerman Imperial Navy during that war."König Albert" was the final ship of five which comprised the "Kaiser" class. It was the only vessel of the Imperial Fleet to be given the name SMS "König Albert" after King
Albert of Saxony .During the war, "König Albert" was assigned to the 3rd Battleship Squadron along with its class-mates. The ship was interned at
Scapa Flow until the scuttling of the fleet on 21 June 1919.The wreck was raised in the 1930s.
