- 64th Aggressor Squadron
The 64th Aggressor Squadron is a squadron of the
United States Air Force . Along with the65th Aggressor Squadron , the 64th AGRS, as part of the 57th Adversary Tactics Group,57th Wing , provides Air Combat Maneuvering training to USAF and other aviation forces in conjunction with Red Flag exercises.Originally formed in 1940, it eventually became the 64th Aggressor squadron onDecember 30 ,1981 . As the 64th Fighter Weapons Squadron, they began performing theaggressor role with theT-38 Talon in 1972. In 1975, they received F-5E Tiger II, which they flew until preparing to transition to the F-16 onApril 1 ,1988 . As theCold War ended and military budgets adjusted, the unit was deactivated onOctober 5 ,1990 . The squadron was reactivated onOctober 3 ,2003 , again flying the F-16.Lineage
