- Romanian capital market
Since the
Romanian Revolution of 1989 , successiveRomania n governments have tried to promote reform programs in all sectors:politics ,economics ,civil rights ,local administration , etc., and these changes have been rapid. Among these measures has been the establishment of the modern Romaniancapital market . Development of a Romanian capital market was founded on theprivatisation program , in which shares in more than 5,000companies , property of theRomanian State , were granted for free to the population. The Romanian capital market has two main components: the
Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE)and theRASDAQ market (in the process of being licensed as an Alternative Trading System). Currently, there are around 60 companies listed onBSE and around 2,500 on RASDAQ. Romania also has a derivatives exchange -The Sibiu Monetary Financial and Commodities Exchange (BMFMS). The Romanian market is regulated by the National Securities Commission.External links
