These are the official results of the men's 100 metres event at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. The competition was held on July 29, 1928 and July 30, 1928. 76 runners from 27 nations competed.

Percy Williams equalized the standing Olympic record with 10.6 seconds in the fourth heat of the second round. In the first semi-final Robert McAllister, Percy Williams, and Wilfred Legg all equalized the record again by running 10.6 seconds.
