"Lady fantasy" is a song by the British
Progressive rock group Camel.Clocking in at 12 minutes, Lady Fantasy is the longest of the two epics on the Mirage album, (The other being the 9 minute "Nimrodel"), which was released in1974 , and has been regarded as one of the band's classic tracks - many crediting as their best.It is divided in three sections: Encounter / Smiles for you / Lady Fantasy

Begins with a
synthesizer repeating a 3 note melody, then the other instruments come in at a different tempo creating apolyrhythmic effect. Then the synthesizer stops and the songs tempo slows down to a slower section in the key ofA minor , then anacoustic guitar andelectric piano enter, soon after the first vocal verse comes in. Afterwards, a keyboard solo begins, followed by the final repetition of the chorus.Part two: Smiles for you
The song abruptly switches into an instrumental section beginning with a guitar solo followed by a slower section like the one in the first part's intro (also in A minor), with another guitar solo. Then a synthesizer solo enters (The key switches to

The song returns to the original theme in
A minor with a guitar solo followed by two more vocal verses, Then the song speeds up into a heavier section before its finalguitar andsynthesizer solo.
