*"X. parvus" Rauhut & Xu, 2005 (type)"Xinjiangovenator" (meaning "
Xinjiang hunter") is agenus ofcoelurosaur iandinosaur of theValanginian toAlbian stages of theEarly Cretaceous period. Its remains were found in theLianmugin Formation ofWuerho , Xinjiang,China , and were first described byDong Zhiming . Based on IVPP 4024-2, an articulated partial right leg, it was originally thought to be a new specimen of "Phaedrolosaurus ".cite journal |last=Dong |first=Zhiming |authorlink=Dong Zhiming |year=1973 |title= [Dinosaurs from Wuerho] |journal=Memoirs of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Academic Sinica |volume=11 |pages=45–52 |language=Chinese] However, "Phaedrolosaurus" is based only on teeth, so the hindlimb bones were given their own genus by Rauhut and Xu in 2005. It may be related to "Bagaraatan ".cite journal |last=Rauhut |first=Oliver W.M. |coauthors=and Xu, Xing |year=2005 |title=The small theropod dinosaurs "Tugulusaurus" and "Phaedrolosaurus" from the Early Cretaceous of Xinjiang, China |journal=Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology |volume=25 |issue=1 |pages=107–118 |doi=10.1671/0272-4634(2005)025 [0107:TSTDTA] 2.0.CO;2 |doilabel=10.1671/0272-4634(2005)025[0107:TSTDTA]2.0.CO;2]References
