Spain is a traditional town which sits about 40 minutes' drive inland from Alicante airport. It used to be an agricultural town, beingwine the main product of the area. Recently it has seen itself suddenly immersed in the big shift which tourism in theAlicante province is experiencing: since the coast line has virtually no more room for new residentials, these are moving inland into the province, along with new developments like golf courses meant to offer something else to these tourists which most of the times get a second residence in the area like their parents may have done in the 80's in the very coast line which, by the way, it keeps being at short driving distance from the new residentials. Therefore a very popular area for British, German and other European countries expats is developing fast in the area along with a new housing boom which concerns some in terms ofsustainability . There is a thriving English expat community there, but the town still manages to retain its authenticity. Pinoso is about 10 minutes' drive from [http://www.yeclaserve.com Yecla] .The expats are bringing a sizeable English and German (to a lesser degree, also Dutch) community to an area where bothSpanish language andValencian were the only languages used only a few years ago.Local forum in English [http://www.spainserve.com Pinoso Forum]
