Peringottukurissi

Peringottukurissi is a panchayath headquarters in Palakkad district of Kerala state, south India. It is under Alathur Taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala state, India.

There are not many sites to be seen in this village except Choolanur Peacock Sanctuary (5 km from peringottukurissy) situated about 30 km away from Palakkad town, is the only one of its kind in Kerala. Spread over approximately 5 square kilometres of reserve forest in Peringottukurissi Panchayat and Malesamangalam in Trichur district. Also you can see widely spread paddy fields by the side of the river. This village far away from fast city life is an ideal place for rejuvenating one's mind and body. This village is easily accessible through NH 47.

Education

A government Higher Secondary School functions in Peringottukurissi. This school was upgraded from an Upper Primary School to a High School in 1962. There are 10 primary schools in this Panchayath, of which two are upper primary schools. 96% of people are literate in this village.

More than 50% percent of the people in this village are engaged in agriculture. The main crops are paddy, vegetables, pulses, tapioca and sweet potato. The northern boundary of the village is Bharatapuzha and most of the paddy fields are irrigated by water from Malampuzha irrigationproject.
