Jason Estrada

Jason Moses Estrada (born November 30, 1980 in Providence, Rhode Island) is a boxer who represented the United States at the 2004 Olympic Games in the super heavyweight division. In 2003 he won the gold medal at the Pan American Games.

Professional career

Known as "Big Six", Estrada turned professional in 2004 and won his first seven fights before losing a controversial majority decision to undefeated Travis Walker. On April 4, 2008, at the Twin River Events Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island, Estrada defeated Lance Whitaker by unanimous decision. Although he has limited power, his boxing ability has enabled him to easily outbox the majority of his competition thus far. His current record is 14-1 (2 KO). Jason makes his home in North Providence, Rhode Island.

*Three time United States amateur super heavyweight champion (2001, 2002, 2003)

*At the 2001 World Amateur Boxing Championships he was beaten in his first bout by Cuban Pedro Carrión.

*Gold medalist at the 2003 Pan American Games

Estrada's results as a United States super heavyweight representative at the 2004 Athens Olympics were:
*Defeated Ma'afu Hawke (Tonga) 30-11
*Lost to Michel López Núñez (Cuba) 7-21 (whom he had previously beaten to win the gold in 2003 Pan American games)
