The Treaty of Tempea ended the
Second Macedonian War (200 BC –196 BC ) between theRoman Republic andPhilip V of Macedon . Rome won the decisiveBattle of Cynoscephalae in197 BC , and by the Treaty of Tempea,196 BC , they forced Philip to give up Macedonia's possessions in Greece andAsia , and pay a war indemnity of 1000 talents.ee also
