Viktoria-Luise of Solms-Baruth . He becameheir-apparent to the Headship onMarch 6 1954 , when his father became the Head. Prince Andreas succeeded to the Headship on his father's death onJanuary 23 1998 .In
Hamburg on31 July 1971 , Andreas marriedCarin Dabelstein (b.16 July 1946 ). The marriage, although unequal is notmorganatic , and was authorized by his father. They have had three children, who inherit the ducal styles and titles:

However, were the Dukedom of Albany to be restored, he would not be the holder.
