"Wait & See ~Risk~" sold 1,662,000 copies and debuted at #1 on the Oricon charts with 804,570 in its first week. Utada had two versions released: CD and DVD. The CD version included 5 tracks (the most original tracks for a Utada single yet, excluding karaoke tracks) and the DVD version included 2 tracks. In the DVD version of the single, a version of the music video with 5.1 channel audio was available.
