April 3 ,1953 ) is a U.S. judge and politician. He was born inShawnee, Oklahoma , and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from theUniversity of Oklahoma in 1974 and 1976 respectively. Shortly after graduating from law school, he was elected to theOklahoma House of Representatives , where he served until his election as state attorney general in 1986. He served from 1987 to June 1991. From 1991 to 1993 he served as Dean of theOklahoma City University School of Law . In 1994, PresidentBill Clinton appointed him as a Judge on theUnited States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit , his current job. In January 2008, Henry succeededDeanell Reece Tacha as Chief Judge of the Tenth Circuit, and he is expected to hold the position until December 2014. Judge Henry is a cousin of current Oklahoma GovernorBrad Henry , and administered the oath of office at the governor's inauguration in 2003.References
