Weird Paul Petroskey (born
November 21 ,1970 ) is alo-fi musician in the Pittsburgh, PA, area. He has been recording and releasing music since 1984. The majority of his music is self produced and distributed in limited numbers. Though he has recorded and released over 500 songs he has only one major CD release to date. This album, entitled "Lo Fidelity, Hi Anxiety" was released on Homestead Records in 1991 and now has a cult following. The songs on this album were a mix of new music and re-recorded tracks from previous releases. Titles include "Acting like Mel Torme," "Dreaded Glaucoma Test," "Piece of Meat in the Tang," and "My Head's on Fire."In April 2006, Chicago filmmaker Stacey Goldschmidt released a Weird Paul documentary entitled "Weird Paul, A Lo Fidelity Documentary". Featured in the documentary are interviews with
Lou Barlow ofSebadoh and John Hall ofKing Missile as well as many other lo-fi musicians and Weird Paul’s parents.Trivia
