Kahula bint Azwar was a Muslim Arab warrior sister of legandary Muslim soldier and commander of
Rashidun army ,Zirrar ibn Azwar , during the 7th century Muslim conquest. She fought side by side with her brother Zirrar in many battles including a decisiveBattle of Yarmouk in636 againstByzantine empire . She, on the 4th day of the battle lead a group of women against the Byzantine army, and was wounded during her fight with a Greek soldier.Her talent first appear during theBattle of Saniyat al Uqab , in634 fought during the Siege of Damascus, in which her beloved brother Zirrar was leadig the Muslim forces and was wounded and taken in prison by Byzantine army,Khalid ibn Walid took hismobile guard , to rescue him, Kahula accompanied the army and rushed on the Byzantinerearguard all alone, in her armor and typical loose dress of Arabian warriors she was not recognized as a woman until she was asked by Khalid about her identity.One of theRashidun army commanderSharjeel ibn Hasana is reported to say about her that:She probably died in young age during a plague in 639 A.D with her brother Zirrar.References
