Radhakrishna Padayachi (b. May 1,
1950 ) is the Deputy Minister of Communications of the Republic ofSouth Africa since 29 April 2004.He Joined the
African National Congress (ANC) in (1972) and Served as Executive Member of the Natal Indian Congress. He also Served in the Economics Desk of the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal and as Deputy head of local government portfolio and also a Consultant toUNICEF ,UNESCO and theWorld Bank .Radhakrishna Padayachi's ancestral village is Ooramangalam, near
Chennai ,Tamil Nadu . His great grandfather was taken as an indentured servant by British to Africa. His parents were born inSouth Africa and his grandparents inMauritius .Radhakrishna obtained Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Durban-Westville , Masters of Science degree from theUniversity of London and Second year readings in Law from theUniversity of South Africa .External links
