Sally Ann Matthews

Sally Ann Matthews (born September 19, 1970 in Oldham, Lancashire, England), is a British actress known for roles in British soap operas , Coronation Street and Emmerdale. She played Jenny Bradley in Coronation Street, the daughter of the villainous Alan Bradley, a role she played from 1986 to 1992, making a brief return the following year. In 2005 she joined the cast of Emmerdale as farmer's wife Sandra Briggs but was axed less than a year later. In a recent interview with Inside Soap, the show's executive producer, Kathleen Beedles, admitted casting Matthews, well-known to soap fans from Coronation Street, in what would essentially become a minor role was a mistake. She also confirmed she would like Matthews to return to the show in some capacity in the future.

Sally Ann played Pat in The Grove Family, a nurse in Stay Lucky, Lady Mullett in Brill, Paula in Heartbeat and Tracey in Missing Persons. She appeared in the BBC series Hettie Wainthrop Investigates and Common As Muck. Sally Ann appeared as a waitress in the film Brassed Off and in several Radio 4 plays.

Her stage work includes Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Jack & The Beanstalk, Slyvia's Wedding, The Suicide, Feed, Fur Coat No Knickers, My Fat Friend, Gaslight, Accrington Pals and Biloxi Blues.
