Tennga is a town in northern Georgia on the border with
Tennessee , alongU.S. Highway 411 .The town is located at coord|34.98718|N|84.73842|W|. The location is at an elevation of 887 feet above sea level. The area is served by Rostex Airport, which has a single paved runway.
The town is unique for its name, which is a
portmanteau of "GA" and "Tennessee".On March 28, 2000, Tennga was the site of an infamous crash between a Murray County school bus and a 33-car southbound CSX freight train that resulted in the deaths of two children.
