(2003)"Que Me Quedes Tú" ("That You Stay " in English) is aLatin pop song written and performed byColombian singer-songwriter Shakira for her2001 breakthrough Englishalbum "Laundry Service ". She released it as the first and only single of her first ever Spanish greatest hits album, "Grandes Éxitos".ong information
"Que Me Quedes Tú" was written by Shakira and composed by her and longtime friend
Luis Fernando Ochoa . It was released as a single in2002 , reaching the number-one spot on the "Billboard"Hot Latin Tracks chart, becoming very successful throughout the Spanish-speaking market. In the documentary accompanying her
Live & off the Record DVD, Shakira comments herself that most of her songs are not so serious, including Que Me Quedes Tu. She explains the lines "May all the news channels be ruined, as much as I hate television. May all smiles become obsolete, and all sunsets be extinguished" is really gibberish.Music Video
The music video for this song is quite complex. It begins with Shakira waiting at a bus stop on a busy road, with her hair unusually tied up, and a watch which is working backwards. Soon after, we see that the busy road is actually a background on a stage, which is taken away. Shakira plays the drums, and then runs away, looking for her lover. She finally finds her lover and hugs him and the video ends with the actual words "The End".
