November 21 ,1980 ,Brazil ) is aBrazil ian footballer, who currently plays forSeongnam Ilhwa Chunma ofK-League .Mota began his career withCeará Sporting Club in 1998, then went to play forLa Liga sideRCD Mallorca from 1999 to 2000. However, in 2000, Mota went back to Brazil and played forCruzeiro Esporte Clube scoring 32 goals in the league. In 2004, he went to theFar East where he played forK-League sideChunnam Dragons , finishing as the league's top scorer with 14 goals.In early 2005, Portuguese giantSporting Lisbon loaned out Mota for his service, however, he could not make the same impact, and Mota returned to K-League in July. He now plays forSeongnam Ilhwa Chunma . His agent, since his move from Ceará to Cruzeiro in 2003, isEmerson Damasceno , from Brazil.As soon as he moved on to
Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma he became the best player for his club. Scoring 7 goals in 19 matches. However, he suffered from broken left ankle in match againstGyeongnam FC in 2006, which forced him to be out of the pitch for several months. He then came back from injury at the time of Play-off season, and scored winning goal againstFC Seoul in semi-final,and two goals in final againstSuwon Samsung Bluewings .Mota is considered as a best striker in K-League. He is nicknamed "Motasin"(in Korean "Mota the god") by his fans. From 2007 he consistantly announced that we wants to be naturalized to become Korean citizen.
