"The Campus" is a student-run
newspaper that coversBishop's University (anEnglish language ,liberal arts university located inLennoxville ,Quebec ,Canada ), events in theEastern Townships region as they pertain to students, and other items of interest to Canadian university students.This
newspaper , established in1944 , is run entirely by the student body of theuniversity and its staff of approximately 8 or 9 members is selected each year by the outgoing incumbents. It publishes on a bi-monthly schedule during the academic school year and also prints one summer issue with the intent of sending it to incoming students. It is an independent, not-for-profit newspaper financed by a student levy and advertising revenue. The paper itself isn't printed by Campus staff, but is instead outsourced to theSherbrooke Record newspaper.The Campus hosted the Spring 2005 regional
Canadian University Press conference.Since
2003 , The Campus has maintained a parallel online edition located on their [http://www.campusnews.ca website] .Complete archives of The Campus are available in the [http://www.ubishops.ca/library_info/old-library.htm Bishop's University Old Library] , and issues from 2005-6 are archived electronically on The Campus' website in PDF format.
Before The Campus
The "Mitre" acted as an outlet for student opinion and record of student life before "The Campus". The" Mitre" first appeared in June 1893 and continues today as a student literary magazine.
