Squash Ontario is an
organization committed to promoting the sport of squash inOntario , using themission statement "To provide an environment in which the sport of squash can thrive, by offering quality services and innovative promotion to ensure that the needs of both current and potential players are met.Squash Ontario oversees most tournaments in Ontario, and is in charge of providing provincial rankings, and making decisions on the sport, in Ontario. Squash Ontario also funds provincial teams, whose members receive some sort of compensation for the cost of competing on a provincial and national level.
Membership
Squash Ontario has many members, who, for a fee, get a Squash Ontario t-shirt, a subscription to Squash Life Magazine (see below), and a discount for entry into Provincial Championships.

The 2005-06 Board of Directors was chosen on
September 18 ,2005 , at the annual general meeting. In 2005, Squash Ontario announced plans for a
Hall of Fame , to pay respect to those who had made great contributions to the game of squash in Ontario. The induction ceremony was held onJune 3 ,2005 , at the Badminton & Racquet, and the Hall of Fame is located at White Oaks Resort. The first group of inductees were: Susan Swift (Builder), Ian C. Stewart (Builder), Sharif Khan (Player), Jim Mason (Builder), and Jack Fairs (Builder). There will be inductions every odd numbered year.Regional Associations
Squash Ontario has divided the province up into nine regions. They are:
Northern Ontario , Northwestern Ontario, Niagara,Toronto and District,Huronia ,Western Ontario ,Central Ontario ,Ottawa and District, andSouthwestern Ontario . Each region is governed by Squash Ontario, but is entitled to making some of their own decisions, based on their region's circumstances. Each region has aPresident , and is allowed to enter a regional team into theOntario Winter Games , an event for all winter sports, held every two years. Over the last few years, Squash Ontario has began to implement programs to get squash more into schools, and to get more juniors playing, on top of their strong elite junior programs.Squash Life Magazine
Squash Life Magazine is official publication
magazine of Squash Ontario. It is distributed three times a year- Fall, Winter, and Summer- and contains information on Squash Ontario events, and has ads for squash companies, as well as upcoming Squash Ontario events. The magazine is attainable through Squash Ontario Membership, or for free from all facilities recognized by Squash Ontario.External links
