Rollei SL26

Rollei SL26

The SL26 was a high-end SLR for the 126 cartridge format, produced by Rollei from 1968 to 1973. Retailing for $300, it was the most expensive 126 camera ever produced and somewhat of an oddity since the 126 format was used primarily for inexpensive snapshot cameras like the Kodak Instamatic. The SL26 had all the features common to 35mm SLRs, including interchangeable lenses, split-image rangefinder, TTL metering, and a hot shoe. It came with a Zeiss Tessar 40mm f/2.8 lens, but 28mm f/3.2 and 80mm f/4 units were also available. The Compur shutter had speeds ranging from 1/2 to 1/500 plus bulb. Early models were made in Germany, though production was later moved to Singapore.
