Due to major tribal wars , they had to flee to present day Tchamba in Northern Togo, even though Tchambas were also already there.It is widely spoken in Togo, Ghana, Benin, and Nigeria.They are predominantly Moslems.They have linguistcal affiliations with Konkonba, Bassari. Muata mfo means in Tchamba May God accept our prayers.Today in Northern Togo The major clans are CONGORO, Lari, Dopo, Samgbe, Lambu Daru Atarrawei and others.The Congoros are the origins there, whereby the Laris among others came.The kingship was originally for the Congoros. Today they are all Tchambas.
