(2003)"Reroute to Remain" is the sixth studio
album byIn Flames . The album was released onSeptember 3 ,2002 onNuclear Blast . "Reroute to Remain" was In Flames' first big step towards mainstream music, and was rejected by sections of In Flames' fan base upon its release. It is sometimes viewed as a transitional album between "Clayman " and "Soundtrack to Your Escape ". The album's more accessible sound attracted many new fans, and launched In Flames into the US metal scene, securing them the top spot atOzzfest . However, many fans of In Flames' earlier albums rejected this release, claiming that the band hadsold out because of its American influences from scenes likealternative metal ,nu metal andmetalcore . Despite this, the album peaked at #13 on the Top Independent Albums chart. Two singles were released, "Trigger" and "
Cloud Connected ." The music video for Cloud Connected simply shows In Flames in a barren landscape (actually a studio), and also shows the band members (starting with Anders), putting their face up against what seemed to be porthole, seeming heavily influenced on aStargate theme. Themusic video for "Trigger" has the band performing for fans while fellow Swedish bandSoilwork observes from a distance and appears to be at odds with In Flames. A video for "Rejection Role" from "Figure Number Five ", Soilwork's album of the time, reverses this gag role.Track listing
