- Ajax-Pickering Transit
The Ajax Pickering Transit Authority (APTA) was the former
public transit operator in the Town ofAjax, Ontario and the City ofPickering, Ontario . It, along with the other public transit agencies inDurham Region , were merged onJanuary 1 ,2006 to formDurham Region Transit .APTA's organizational structure was unusual in that it was jointly owned by Pickering and Ajax and governed by members of the Authority appointed by both municipalities.
