AT-11 "Sniper" is the
NATO reporting name for the 9M119 "Svir" or 9M119M "Refleks" laser beam riding guidedanti-tank missile s, developed in the formerSoviet Union . The two missiles are similar, varying only in range and launch platform. Both are designed to be fired from the 125 mm main guns of tanks. The "Refleks" is fired from theT-90 and some versions of theT-80 andT-84 tanks, while the "Svir" is fired from theT-72 series of tanks. The "Refleks" has also been produced by thePeople's Republic of China for use with the Type 98 tank and Serbia for use withM-2001 . It can also be fired from the2A45 Sprut-B anti-tank gun.The name "Svir" comes from the
River Svir , while "Refleks" meansreflex .The United States fielded a similar gun-launched system, the
MGM-51 Shillelagh from the 1960s to 1980s, used in the M551 light tank.pecifications
