Interisland Airlines is an airline based in Pasay City, Manila, the Philippines. It operates domestic scheduled services and passenger and cargo domestic and international charter services. History

The airline began operating as an air taxi company, Interisland Air Services, in 1986. In 2004 it acquired two 36-seater Yakovlev Yak-40 aircraft and in December 2004 started operations as Interisland Airlines. It is owned by Consuelo Helgen (President), Gloria Belen, Luc Helgen (Chairman), Lydia Dizon (Chief Financial Officer) and Marcelo Pervera and has 36 employees (at March 2007).

Incidents and accidents

*On 2 November 2006, Interisland Airlines Flight 213, a Yakovlev Yak-40 travelling from Malay to Manila, a few minutes before taking off from Godofredo P. Ramos Airport the tire of the front landing gear of the plane burst while taxing on the runway. The only runway of the airport was closed for about 2 hours due to the incident, flights that were going to land were instructed to divert to the nearby Kalibo Airport, and departing flights were delayed. After about 2 hours the tires of the front landing gear of the plane were replaced with new ones and Flight 213 arrived Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila safely.
