Eric V. Rodwell (born 1957, grew up in West Lafayette,
Indiana ) is a multiple world champion incontract bridge , winning theBermuda Bowl representing the U.S. four times. He is one of only ten players who have won the so-calledtriple crown of bridge : the Bermuda Bowl, the World Open Pairs and theWorld Team Olympiad .For decades he has been in a regular partnership with
Jeff Meckstroth and together, nicknamed "Meckwell", they are one of the most successful bridge partnerships of all time. They are well known for playing an aggressive and very detailed system called RM (for Rodwell-Meckstroth) Precision, of which Rodwell is the principal author. Although he has not actively pursued masterpoints as a goal, he is one of the all-time top masterpoint holders in theAmerican Contract Bridge League , and won the "Barry Crane Trophy" for winning the most masterpoints in a year in 2004.Rodwell has been credited with the invention of the
support double .Rodwell is a full time bridge professional and currently lives in
Clearwater Beach ,Florida with his wife Donna. Eric also has two children from a previous marriage, twins Jeffrey and Sara (aged 23). In his spare time he likes to play thepiano .Awards
